Questions people actually ask
Which is cheaper — a bank personal loan or an instant loan app?
Usually a bank or large NBFC. Instant apps trade speed for cost: small tickets and short tenures mean the effective annual rate (APR) is often much higher. If you can wait a day or two, compare a bank offer first.
How do I know a loan app is safe?
The app must name the RBI-registered bank or NBFC that actually lends. You must get a Key Fact Statement showing the APR and all fees before you accept. Never pay any 'processing fee' upfront to get a loan approved, and never grant access to your contacts or gallery.
Does checking my eligibility hurt my CIBIL score?
A soft eligibility check doesn't. A full application usually triggers a hard enquiry. Several hard enquiries in a short time can lower your score, so apply to one or two lenders, not ten.
Is a credit-card EMI better than a personal loan?
Sometimes. Card EMIs are instant but carry a processing fee plus GST on each conversion. Use our CC EMI vs Personal Loan calculator to compare the real cost for your amount.
What do I need to apply?
PAN, Aadhaar, recent salary slips or ITR, and 3–6 months of bank statements. Salaried applicants with a 750+ score usually get the best offers.
