Convert CGPA ↔ percentage (CBSE / university)
CBSE and many universities convert a 10-point CGPA to a percentage by multiplying by 9.5. Some universities use a different factor (for example multiplying by 10, or subtracting 0.75 before multiplying by 10), so change the multiplier if your institution publishes its own rule.
CBSE derived 9.5 from the average performance of students scoring in the top grade band, and many institutions adopted the same factor.
Use the formula printed on your marksheet or published by your university when an exact percentage is required.
